Yoga in Practice: Speak with Mindfulness

Within the average Yoga class, or ashram, the principles of mindfulness are mentioned for the benefit of Yoga students, their friends, and the people they associate within the course of a day. Mindfulness is living in the moment, and putting the wisdom you have learned, during Yoga class, into practice.

Therefore, mindfulness is carried into everyday situations. What good is learning Yoga, if you cannot apply it to “real life?” If all you learn, in your Yoga class, is postures, then you have missed out on the vastness of Yoga and its many aspects. With that said, we will discuss the aspect of mindfulness, as it applies to our communication with others.

Whenever, you engage another person in conversation, always think before talking. This may sound simple, but everybody knows someone who does not think before talking. Hence the saying, “Putting his/her foot in his/her mouth.” Children do this, but it is innocent, and they do not yet understand all the rules of etiquette.

Your mind has many random thoughts, and there is no need to expose them to the world. Good politicians, sales people, and diplomats are masters at saying enough to stay out of a conflict, but still manage to get a particular point across. What is the technique they use? In a “nut shell,” it is mindfulness.

Try to avoid conversation when you are not focused, tense, or not in the present moment. If a situation seems potentially volatile, you should pick the time to engage the other party in conversation. Set the tone of the conversation by using a relaxed approach and listen carefully.

When you maintain an air of good will and positive thoughts, it becomes difficult to pursue a conflict with you. Be aware that when you slow down and relax, most people will respond the same. Therefore, you can control a meeting by radiating thoughts of kindness. You do this by showing respect and thinking positively about the other person, despite your differences.

There are exceptions to every rule, and I do not endorse complete surrender, unless you are wrong. However, when you listen emphatically and are fully present for the other party, you will most likely resolve, or avoid, a conflict.

All of us need to learn to laugh at ourselves and develop a sense of humor. This will give you a completely different perspective of yourself, and you won’t worry about feeling embarrassed or making a mistake. This perspective will also allow you to be mindful of yourself and your words.

If you take the time to speak with gentleness, mindfulness, and loving kindness, the world will respond in kind. At the same time you won’t waste energy defending your ego. Always remember the old saying, “Life is too short to waste time fighting.”

Artificial Intelligent Aircraft in the Modern Battlespace

Are manned aerial vehicles really the wave of the future, as it seems our military is making good use of unmanned aerial vehicles in the modern battlespace. Soon, there will be more no more fighter pilots, as all the aircraft involved in wartime and aerial surveillance and security will be unmanned. Yet, if we send out unmanned aerial vehicles on various tasks such as seek and destroy missions or surveillances sorties they will need to be equipped with the latest and greatest computer brains. That is to say artificial intelligence and they will need to be able to program themselves and download that data into a main database, so that information can be immediately shared with all the other unmanned aerial vehicles in our arsenal.

In doing so, every problematic event, that occurs during a routine flight, can be recorded, saved in undistributed to all the current and older units. If and unmanned aerial vehicle gets into problems and is ready to crash it will immediately send all the data of what were wrong wirelessly back to the central computer. This will prevent future unmanned aerial vehicles from getting into the same situation based on the data, which was collected.

Artificial intelligence in unmanned aerial vehicles is the key to the security of our nation and the future victories we seek in serving our political will after negotiations completely breakdown. Consider this in 2006.

General Overview About Trout Senses

When fly fishing for trout, it is of crucial importance to understand their senses. Trout are fish, after all, and make different use of their senses than we do. Understanding these senses can greatly increase the prospects of a successful fly fishing trip. Many anglers make the common mistake of thinking trout are not very smart. As far as hatchery born fish are concerned, this is mostly correct.

However, in Montana and many other prime rivers in the world, most of the rivers are not stocked with hatchery born fish. Instead, the trout found will generally be wild trout. And wild trout, whether they be rainbows, browns or brookies, are always smarter than their hatchery born counterparts.

Additionally, even if you are fly fishing primarily for hatchery born fish, it is still good to know how a trout uses their senses. Why? Quite simply, by knowing how a trout uses their senses, your approach and presentation will be better, leading to less spooked fish and thus better results in the stream. While hatchery born fish are rather stupid, they aren’t so stupid as to sit right on top of an anglers foot, patiently waiting for that fake fly to float right by.

It’s also worth remembering that compared to other fish, trout tend to be smarter than most, especially the cunning Brown Trout. Because of this, when fly fishing for trout, don’t go about it like you would go about bluegill fishing. If an angler goes about fishing for trout on the basis that they are stupid, the angler is likely to be disappointed. A trout that can survive the rigors of a trout stream, especially a Brown Trout, is a very cunning animal indeed.

Buying a Franchise vsBuiling Your Own Business

So you have decided to become a business owner now you have a couple options. You can buy a franchise or build a company from scratch. This ultimately depends on what you want to put in and what you expect out.

There are many franchises available to buy.Your local town center is probable full of franchises. Franchises are typically founded on a tried and tested business model. When you buy into a franchise, many aspects of the business including marketing are taken care of off. There are many different franchises available. Some will give you the business name, equipment and everything you need for start up, others only give you the basics and you still have to buy or lease a location, purchase equipment and the inventory you will need.

The two main downsides of buying a franchise however are that There is little room for creativity on your part, and you must pay for the privilege up front. Visit the Key Mergers website for more information or if you would like to f you would like to buy a business or for details of available franchises.

Starting from zero and building a you very own company however means that you can grow the business organically over time, you can limit your initial outlay and you can be as creative with the direction of your business as you like. However, your model may not be tried and tested and you will likely have to develop your own support network from the ground up along with your business.

The bottom line is, the decision whether to buy a franchise or start a business from scratch are dependent on what your want to get out of the enterprise. There is a trade-off between creativity, fleximility, risk and reward.

Manage Stress By Focusing On Solutions And By Having A Laugh

Marshal John Kruger acted by Arnold Schwarzenegger (who else) in the film “Eraser” protects a female employee in the defence industry who has exposed corruption and treason to the FBI.

He rebukes one of his colleagues who calls the people he protects ’scum’. His colleague is miffed: “Who does this guy think he is?”

John’s ‘friend’ Marshal Deguerin acted by James Caan answers:
“He thinks he is the best guy in the game. I think he is too. Try not to piss him off.”

John Kruger never gives up. A huge nail goes through his hand and nails it to a table. He just pulls his hand free and keeps going.

One of my black belts dislocated his finger at his grading. I straightened it out for him and he kept going without batting an eyelid.

There are John Krugers in real life as well as in the films.
At one point John jumps out of a jet plane in search of a parachute and catches up with it.

Later the parachute wraps around him. He unwraps it. This is what heroes and heroines in the films do. They keep going until they think of a solution. So do some people in real life.

At one point he kicks away a crocodile and then shoots him. He can even crack a crocodile joke under stress. “You’re luggage!”

I was once chased by a bear cub when I was 8 years old. It was roughly the same size as me. Possibly he just wanted to play but I didn’t feel like finding out. I couldn’t think of anything funny to say at the time but I did get away!

We may not be John Krugers but at the very least we can keep trying and looking for solutions. We can also try to crack a few jokes along the way.

I remember my Granddad still cracking jokes in his old age. The tears ran down his face as he laughed at his own jokes. I thought they were pretty funny too. One of his favourites was to cut away a small piece of pie and put the rest of it on his own plate. He probably found the look of shock on everyone’s face amusing.

Anyone who can face the problems of old age and still keep laughing is a hero in my view.

We need to keep laughing by cheerfully accepting challenges till the day we die. There is something about a good challenge that makes us laugh and there is no bigger challenge than the challenge of getting old.

Billy Connolly, the Scottish comedian who now lives in the USA, met an ageing funny man of 65 in California. The man gave him some advice about what to do when he reached 60.

Many men over 60 will find this advice both realistic and funny and one of the best ways to handle some of the disadvantages of getting old. I have edited his words slightly to avoid giving offence to some.

“There was a guy in a cigar store in Los Angeles – this big guy who is older than me by five years.”

He said: “Oh you’re sixty. I’ll give you some advice on turning sixty. Three things you must always remember.”

I said “Right”

“Never turn down a chance to have a pee”

“Right”

“Never trust a fart.”

“Make the most of any signs of sexual life before they

disappear”.

There are some medical experts who reckon they can solve these three problems. But if they can’t or you can’t afford them, you might as well have a laugh like the man in the cigar store.

Large Brands Get Ready to Command Gaming Notebooks Sector Too

Until recently, gaming notebooks were traditionally built to spec by special manufacturers. In the past the lack of sales was made up by the profit margins. These trendy notebook computers were just not affordable. In my opinion they were the best laptop computers available. I guess we all got thrilled about them but the large number of us would highly unlikely buy laptop computers that were so high priced. Sales will increase though now that bigger manufacturers are coming into the sector.

I believe they could categorise it as a top end laptop and make great amounts of cash on these especially with their mass production facilities. This could be one of the few cash generating lines they have as they make nothing on numerous others due to the enormous competition. Why would people buy laptop computers like this? I reckon big brands have the marketing budgets to educate them on that. I have no idea what this will do to smaller system builders but it will have a negative effect on them. With the resources at their disposal they can easily get rid of smaller competition. Littler system builders cannot actually leverage a brand name as the larger manufacturers can.

To my astonishment the mass produced gaming laptop computers are as good or even better than the best laptop computers available to buy. Still however, for the local retailers this may prove to be good. The customisation feature is a big bonus to the customer. People of this sort are generally highly knowledgeable concerning the technology at hand, and hence can carry out like for like comparisons. In my view I believe people care more about the speed instead of appearance.

Certainly what’s happening here could benefit people in the long term. Better technology will be more purchasable in the future for numerous buyers because it will act to drive costs down further. I predict that with a high degree of doubt however. I guess technology is becoming more advanced but the latest laptop computers should normally remain expensive. Competition always pushes companies to do more and provide greater value so that sounds hopeful.

God Pervades All Things

As I sat among the emerald, silky-smooth grass and enormous oak trees that inhabited my secret place of contemplation, I pondered the meaning of my existence. On this day, I was particularly full of despair and truthfully didn’t know if I desired to go on with my life anymore. I was seeking confirmation from the omnipotent power that supposedly existed beyond human beings. My life at the moment was not going the way I had imagined life to be and felt helpless and hopeless for things to ever improve. It just seemed easier to give up on my hopes and dreams of peace and happiness, rather than struggle in a seemingly meaningless existence filled with endless pain and suffering. I needed help and I need at this moment. I was sinking down into, what felt like an endless void, and I couldn’t escape.

My thinking turned within and I began to feel an intense pain within my heart, so intense that it seemed as if it was burning through my skin. Tears began to cascade down my cheeks and it appeared to me that I was at my end, giving up all hope for any genuine happiness and tranquilly in my life. There didn’t appear to be any hope in life and my faith was nearly exhausted. All I truly desired to do at that moment was to curl up in the fetal position and embrace my poor aching heart that continued to scorch my internal being. This pain was too intense, I could not go on like this anymore, and I clearly needed a miracle to rise from this state of helplessness and devastation of my soul.

What can I possibly do? I didn’t have an answer and I truly believed that there was no answer contained within the entire universe. I was utterly and completely beaten down and had no solution to help me climb my way out of this torturous existence. My mind continued to confirm my hopelessness. It expressed to me that there was nowhere to turn, no one to help, and no possible way to transform or escape this feeling of infinite misery.

Suddenly, I became aware of this silent, tranquil, yet powerful whisper. It did not come from my mind; it permeated my entire being. It commenced in my heart and subsequently traveled throughout my body. This whisper suggested for me to ask God for a miraculous sign. To this day, I remain baffled that I listened to this direction, but fortunately, I did. I communicated with God while gazing up into the azure sky that surrounded me. I said, “God if you exist, if you are out there, please show me your existence. I’m hopeless and need confirmation of your omnipresence and your faith in me.” I sat in a daze for a few moments, exhausted from the emotional turmoil pervading my internal being.

Then, there it was my sign of God’s existence, sensually flying toward me. A magnificent, vibrant, multicolored bird miraculously landed before me. This beautiful creation gracefully strolled around me, gazing in my eyes, silently communicating the message of life. Its gaze provided proof to me that GOD was sending me a sign to lift me out of my despair and to guide me along the honorable path of the spirit. This bird remained in close proximity for quite some time. I’m not exactly sure how long it was, but it felt like a bliss-filled eternity. This message transformed my life and intimately connected me to the source of all creation.

This enlightening experience occurred about six years ago and from that moment on my life has never been the same. Each moment, of each day I bask in the illumination of God and the miraculous beauty that exists in the totality of the universe. I have never again questioned God’s existence and I’m able to see the presence of GOD in everything around me. Most importantly, I can see and feel GOD within my being. I have come to realize that there is an extraordinary and powerful force that connects everything in life. If we choose to make this connection to this source, we will know love, peace, and tranquility in our lives. We will contain the power to transform the Universe and help in the evolution of humankind. God is there for us at all times, the secret is to know this, feel this, believe this and connect to this powerful source each moment of our lives.

3 More Excellent Health and Fitness Tips

Here are 3 top tips to help you develop your running, firstly, the common problem of stitches. Stitches are probably the most annoying things that you can get when you’r running, second only to getting cramp (I shall come back to cramp).

The best method to avoid getting a stitch is very simple, it is this: Simply do not eat or drink within 2 hours of going for a run. If you follow this advice you should not get a stitch, you are at least much less likely to anyway! If you do need a drink, only drink little sips!

Okay, when you’re running, probably the most annoying thing you can suffer from is cramp! Most runners have probably experienced cramp of some sort during their lifetime and know what I’m referring to!

My second tip is an easy way to avoid this suffering! Cramp and dehydration go hand in hand, so my tip is to keep hydrated while running, especially on long runs where fatigue will take its toll! So take some water when you go out running, if you don’t want to carry a water bottle while you run, then drop a bottle off half way round your route, then drink it when you reach half way, then pick it up again upon completion on your way home! Other options include hydro packs and other similar products which I personally find very effective during endurance runs! By keeping hydrated you will fight off cramp for a much longer time, but, if you do happen to get cramp, my top tip to get rid of it, is to stretch the muscle in question out, this will help relieve the cramp!

My third tip is a great way for measuring your cardiovascular fitness at a high intensity, then in the future as a monitor for seeing how you have progressed! Okay, start off by having a good thorough warm up, then the test is this: run as far as you can in a 12 minute period, this is recommended round a track to keep measurements accurate! As you run remember how many laps you have completed, when your alarm goes off after 12 minutes, stop where you are and work out the distance you have travelled, this distance is used to measure your fitness!
Less than 1,750 metres is poor.
1,750-2,250 is average.
2,250-2,750 is slightly above average.
2,750-3,500 is good!
Anything over 3,500 is excellent!

Do this monthly and see how your fitness improves! This is a good measure of how you have improved!

Follow these 3 tips for happy running, and to gauge your improvements!

Hedge Funds: the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly

Alfred Winslow Jones started hedge funds in 1949. He was a pioneer of non-traditional investment strategies. “Non-traditional” categorizes hedge funds quite accurately. Hedge funds have the potential to make an investor quite a bit of money, but many do not understand the nature of hedge funds. Hedge funds have undergone skepticism because they do not have to disclose their activities to third parties.

Hedge funds can be quite profitable if an investor uses the best techniques. One technique is risk arbitrage. Basically, buying stocks in a company that is in the process of a merger and acquisition. Companies announce a specific price the day of the merger, so if the stock is under the stated value before the day of the merger, it is a relatively safe plan to buy and wait. This does pose some risk, because some mergers do not go through.

Hedge funds are very secretive and do not have to disclose their activities to third parties. This allows hedge funds to be free from the regulations that mutual funds have to adhere to. This can be considered as beneficial because fund managers will perform better because they see a direct profit from the success of the fund. In mutual funds, this is not so. Also, large companies can move undisclosed amounts of money and gain significantly without authorities noticing. Actual numbers are not known, but HFR (hfr.com) reported that at the end of the second quarter in 2003, there were 5660 hedge funds managing $665 billion dollars around the world. The sheer magnitude of this number is shocking, but demonstrates the massive profits that can be made from successful hedge fund strategy. Unfortunately for secretive businesses that enjoy the secrecy of hedge funds, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission is attempting to successfully implement the requirement that hedge funds be registered with the SEC. If this continues and is successfully implemented, then all of the advantages to secrecy will be lost.

One negative aspect of the non-regulation of hedge funds is the fact that there are no official hedge fund statistics. Most hedge fund holders are large companies and so little is knows about their financial movements. Hedge funds are based in offshore jurisdictions, making them seem even more suspicious. Unlike mutual funds that have a base in large cities like New York, Hedge Funds are based in places like Bermuda, Cayman Islands, and the Virgin Islands. It may seem strange to call your fund manager in Bermuda rather than to call someone in New York City.

Another negative aspect of hedge funds is their high price tag. Hedge funds seem to be more suited for large businesses and companies that are merging than they are suited for the average worker. Hedge funds usually require an extravagant amount of money for initial purchase. If someone does have the money, however, they can gain even more money with this sometimes high-risk venture.

Hedge funds have the potential to help an investor gain quite a bit of money. However, hedge funds undergo a great amount of scrutiny because of the lack of regulations and the general secrecy surrounding hedge funds. Hedge funds are based offshore and have been rumored to hold as much as $665 billion. Some reports even state that at one point, 39 firms were managing hedge funds worth $1.1 trillion. These startling numbers show that hedge funds can be quite lucrative.

Jenny Delinga is very interested in hedge funds. You can find out more about hedge funds at Hedge Fund Reader ( http://www.hedgefundreader.com ).
