Know Velocity

Why was Jesus crucified? Because His gospel was highly politicized. It had everything to do with GOVERNMENT! God’s people would do well to note that fact. His enemies accused Him of sedition. They distorted His Message to make it appear He was out to overthrow the government! (John 19:12). They led the rulers to believe Jesus was a dangerous individual, a real threat to public order and national security (John 11:48). Jesus had to be stopped! Both the political and religious authorities turned on Christ.

Why was Stephen murdered? Should he have just kept his opinions to himself? He blasted the religious establishment for their hypocrisy. Although he spoke the plain truth, they confused the issue by taking his words out of context. He undoubtedly did tell them that Jerusalem was going to fall and the Temple was going to be destroyed – just like Jesus prophesied – if they didn’t quickly change course (Acts 6:8-15). He was arrested and brought before the Sanhedrin (their religious court). They angrily condemned him to die for being so blunt (Acts 7).

I read the Book of Acts, making it much more meaningful and relevant, during my detention in Jerusalem’s Russian Compound jail. If you examine the evidence surrounding Paul’s frequent arrests and imprisonments, you’ll see a pattern of trumped up charges, misunderstandings and misguided zeal. It’s a miracle that Paul didn’t say “enough is enough” and quit. But God used him to provide for us a very human example, since we expect Jesus to act divine (I Tim. 1:16).

Many in jail proclaim their innocence, but God knows that I was an innocent politico-religious prisoner. The Leftist government in Israel was out to crush their opposition. As a Christian member of the Temple Mount Faithful, I represent all that the secular hate. I’ve been involved in many televised demonstrations to remind the government of its biblical responsibilities. Whether they listen or not is between them and God.

Living by Faith

The Israeli settlers whom Gerald Flurry (pastor general of the Philadelphia Church of God) once condemned are putting their lives on the line. By living in Eretz Israel (the Land of Israel) they are exercising their faith in God’s Word that promises the Holy Land to Israel, not Ishmael. How cowardly for Gerald Flurry to throw rocks at their faith when he sits safe in his comfortable office in democratic America. God help him (and all the other Church leaders) to wake up to this aspect of the Bible of which too many remain ignorant. Thankfully, from subsequent articles in The Philadelphia Trumpet magazine it appears Mr. Flurry’s understanding has improved.

God’s people won’t suffer the prophesied persecution (not that we’re seeking it) until we take a PUBLIC STAND on religious matters that have political ramifications, just like Jesus and the apostles and prophets. It’s an artificial separation between politics and religion. God’s one government has two branches: Church and State (Malachi 4:4-5).

Spiritual issues are fought in the political arena of men’s minds (2 Cor. 10:4). Whether we recognize it or not, our Israelite nations are engaged in a cultural war. Unless we join the struggle, promoting the biblical platform that pierces through the mental fog, how can we expect to be in any position to help influence our nation’s direction away from the precipice (Rom. 10:14)? God’s Church has a superficial understanding when they fail to put God’s truth into practice and take political action (James 2:14-17)!

I was detained for a righteous reason. I’m closely associated with those who call for a return to biblical values. We uphold God’s Law as our true Constitution. We plead with Judah (and Joseph) to obey God and not men; to put their trust in Him and not fear the UN; to restore the Temple Mount as the Temple Mount. If the Jews fail to listen to this opportunity for restoration, they’ll self-destruct, falling apart at the seams. Israel faces the growing threat of a civil war and European intervention!

Warning the Jews

My enemies (if you don’t have any, God is your enemy), knowing that I’ve written that the mosques must go – the Dome of the Rock and Al-Aksa mosques – have falsely accused me of being in a plot to destroy those beautiful abominations! It’s the serpent up to his old tricks, telling half-truths and mixing it with outrageous lies. I did tell the GSS (Israel’s Secret Police like the former East German Stasi) that I was thankful for the opportunity to clear the air and answer any questions. I didn’t want to incriminate myself in any way – and they did try to entrap me – but I also didn’t want to deny Christ the opportunity to testify before them (Mark 12:13).

All the while during my six and a half hours of interrogation, I prayed only to speak what God would have me to say; nothing more or less (Luke 20:12-19). I did clearly warn them that the “peace” process is a trap; that it’s about to blow up in their faces, and that a German-led Europe is going to wage a new crusade to enforce the Vatican’s version of peace. Catholic Europe will backstab and betray both the Arabs and the Jews. They’ll push for Jerusalem to become “an international city” (Zech. 14:2), all under the cover of UN Resolution 181.

I maintained that the only explosives that I’m involved with is the bombshell I’ve written, Beyond Babylon: Europe’s Rise and Fall. I continually referred them to it, stating that’s where my beliefs are on public record (John 18:20). (Later I gave them a computer disk with my book on it to assist their alleged investigation). I told them I know that Israel won’t take God’s warning seriously, any more than those Jews who spurned Jabotinsky’s efforts to save them from Hitler. (Ze’ev Jabotinksy warned the Jews of Hitler’s fury but they thought he was just crying wolf). Nevertheless, God will intervene and save us after our worst time of suffering, and every survivor in Jerusalem will be holy.

That whole ordeal brought my name, and the fact that I’ve written a book, and that I’m a Sabbath-keeping Christian member of the Temple Mount Faithful, to Israel’s attention (Philip. 1:12-14). It also increases my standing in the Jewish community who know I’ve willing to suffer to help try to save Israel from itself, and that I’m not bitter, but still expect Israeli citizenship. I’ve proven that I’m not a fair-weather friend. I plan on standing by Judah’s side, even when they fall because they’ve refused to take the necessary actions to insure “Never Again.” (Isa. 49:5; I Sam. 12:23).

Whenever I conduct a workshop or give a talk to a group of agents, I ask how many of them are in the business of selling insurance. Inevitably about 25% raise their hands. My response to them is, “If you’re in the business of selling insurance you’ll have a hard time succeeding because NO ONE WANTS TO BUY INSURANCE!”

No one wants to buy insurance. Not homeowner’s, auto, life, health or disability… They only want what the insurance provides. They only want the benefit. Believe me, if people could get the benefits they wanted in some other way, they would. So,… if you “sell insurance” success will be tough. On the other hand, if you’re in the business of helping people it’s a different story. Now, you might protest that the distinction is simply a matter of semantics, but there are fundamental differences between having a sales focus and having a helping focus.

This difference affects pretty much everything a person does along with how they do it. If they have a sales focus, their focus is on making the sale! Everything from the initial contact to the presentation to the close to the follow-up is done from a sales perspective. Marketing, contacting, presentation, and follow-up are from a product and/or company perspective. On the other hand, a person who is focused on helping rather than selling will understand that the service they provide (helping) is what matters and the insurance they offer is simply the means to achieve the solution they create.

Let me illustrate what I mean. Here’s how a sales-focused person contacts: “Mr. Jones, my name is Bob Smith and I am with the ABC Insurance Company. We have a full line of products to meet your needs. I’d like to set up a time to show you our products and explain how they can solve your problems.” The focus of the entire exchange is on selling their insurance products. In contrast, a person focused on helping, contacts this way: “Ms. Jones, my name is Sue Smith and I help people protect their assets/reduce employee turnover/leverage their financial security. Is that something of interest to you?” They understand that they are a professional offering help, rather than a salesperson selling products.

There are many other distinctions related to taking a professional, helping approach over a selling approach, and they have significant implications. Professionals help rather than sell. They have clients instead of customers/policyholders. They build relationships instead of conducting transactions. They offer solutions instead of sales. They attract clients instead of pursuing customers. People buy from them instead in being sold. They find cooperative opportunities instead of competitive obstacles. Think of the implications from these distinctions. We’ve always heard that people do business with people they like, and people like people who help. You’ve heard the term “trusted advisor”? This is what we’re talking about. It occurs when you shift from selling to helping. Imagine having clients who are eager to refer others to you.

When you adopt the attitude of a professional and take the focus off the products, guess who the focus falls on? You! You become the service that clients buy. You become valuable. You become a resource. You become an expert. Clients don’t look to insurance policies for answers, they look to you! One of the greatest challenges in arriving at this mindset is becoming clear as to what makes you unique so you can communicate it effectively to your prospects and clients. I often work with my clients on clarifying their purpose and identifying their unique strengths so that their marketing and leadership is effective.

An interesting challenge we face is that we tend to downplay our strengths, especially if they come easily to us. We tend to take them for granted and we tend to assume that everyone has the same (or better) abilities. A very revealing exercise I often ask clients to do is to ask five people they know for five traits that make them excellent at what they do. (My suggestion is to ask people who aren’t family. Ask clients, friends, and associates.) You may be surprised at the results. I find that the responses fall into three categories. 1) You’ll hear things about you that you and everyone else already knew and will thereby get confirmation, 2) You’ll hear things that you already knew but didn’t think anyone else noticed, giving you new insights as to what people notice and value, and 3) You’ll hear things that you never knew about yourself; things that never occurred to you to be a trait that others would value.

These traits and insights are the things that set you apart from all the others out there. These are the things that cause people to do business with you. These unique traits will help you be more effective as you contact new prospects, present your ideas, and generate referrals.

I find that when people aren’t clear about what sets them apart and aren’t clear about their purpose (Inotherwords, why they do what they do) they end up leading with their products and their company. They rely on the strength and credibility of others instead of leading with themselves. The goal of every professional should be to become credible in their own right. That doesn’t necessarily becoming the foremost expert in their field, but it does mean becoming excellent at what they do as a professional – helping others. It means finding new ways to help. It may even mean helping in ways other than with insurance. You can become a resource for information or a networking source of contacts within your community. You can offer advice in other areas of business or life (other professionals are more than happy to provide you with article and insights you can pass on).

The whole point of this is to stop selling insurance and start helping people. It’s been said that people don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care, and it’s true. The interesting consequence is that when you take your focus off of selling and place it on helping, you’ll attract more clients, generate more referrals, and sell more insurance. Life is good…

The robotic future involves many aspects, some good and others not so pleasant, but isn’t that in keeping with the history of mankind? Humans are always having wars and conflicts over various things. In the future many of our battles of political will over another civilization will be fought not by human soldiers but rather by robots. Which some would say might be a good thing although the robots will be killing other people in foreign lands.

Of course on the good side of things we will have robots which cook, clean and will do our household choirs, work in our factories drive our buses, trucks and trains. Perhaps robots will fly our aircraft too or robotic systems rather. The robotic future of the human race will be one filled with choices, options and great new discoveries. It means we must press on into the future but also be careful. Like with any new technology there is good and bad.

On the positive side having robotic warriors means we can better protect our civilization; all we are and all we have built. We can defend freedom and liberty the world over. On the flip side the same programs, which are used to protect our nation could be used as a computer virus to have your household robot go bizerk and chase you around the house with a kitchen utensil. Although this sounds rather funny and it kind of is, it does get a little more serious if that kitchen utensil is a butcher knife as it was suppose to be making you a BLT sandwich? Consider this in 2006.

The time comes for all mortgage brokers and loan officers to consider spending some of their hard earned money by testing the waters of mortgage leads.

After all, leads are the name of the game.

If the time is right for you, it is important to do you research, remember, you are testing the waters, not diving right in. Investigate as many lead companies as you can before you decide which one is right for you.

Equally important is the lead itself, while doing your research, consider these three things about the type of lead you will be getting.

Where did the lead come from?

Speak with a representative from the lead company to determine where the leads are being generated from. Lead companies use different methods for obtaining their leads. Some of the more common ways lead companies generate leads is through e-mail campaigns, advertisements on search engines, directing potential customers to web sites that they own, and purchasing leads in bulk from other companies.

Is the lead fresh or recycled?

Some lead companies sell their leads in what they call “real time,” which means the leads are fresh, usually no more than a day old.

A recycled lead, is a lead that a company will sell multiple times, or they are buying their leads in bulk at a cheap price and reselling them for a profit.

Not to say one is better than the other, the reason being, the difference in price.

A fresh lead will undoubtedly cost more than a recycled lead. It all depends on what you are looking for, quality or quantity.

If the lead is bad, will you get your money back?

Make sure you are 100% confident that the lead company you are dealing with has a fair return policy. Most lead companies have software in place, or verify the lead before they sell it to weed out any fake, or bogus leads. But even with these barriers in place, it is not unusual for one to slip through the cracks. If you receive a bogus lead, there is no reason why you shouldn’t get your money back.

Finding the Right Oil

Made by extracting and crushing olives, oil is classified by how it’s been produced, by its flavor and by its chemistry. The lowest quality of olive oil is refined, where the oil has been chemically treated from its virgin state to neutralize strong acidic tastes … destroying its nutritional beauty in the process. The Extra Virgin Hokum

Because extra virgin is the highest quality oil, many American manufacturers, unbridled by labeling laws, label their oil “extra virgin” regardless of quality. True Extra Virgin olive oil is difficult to make, requiring a very expensive process, so best believe the four dollar bottle of “extra virgin” oil is “baloney.” The sad reality is many manufacturers add a small percentage of extra virgin olive oil to enhance the flavor of a batch of canola oil, slap some olives on the label and call it “extra virgin.”

Internationally, however, standards are much stricter and require that all olive oils carrying the “Extra Virgin” label are subject to a chemical and sensory analysis. Much like wine tasters, there are olive oil connoisseurs with taste buds trained to spot defects in oil such as muddy, winey, musty or even rancid aftertastes. Positive tasting oils are described as tasting fruity, bitter or even pungent.

A newcomer to the world of investments in the notion of “Virtual Real Estate Investing“. There are many variations on what this term means, encompassing everything from using the internet to aid in real estate investing efforts to participating in online games such as SecondLife.

To separate fact from fiction, I asked Bryan Ellis for comments. He’s the man many consider to be the father of this new form of investing.

Ellis says he adopted the term “virtual real estate investing” sometime before Y2K after he realized that making money online is conceptually very similar to making money with physical real estate.

One example of the parallels between virtual and physical real estate Bryan Ellis cites is the similarity between the monetization of domain names versus physical property. “These types of assets – websites and physical real estate – can be monetized in very similar ways like buy lo/sell high, leasing/rental and advertising opportunities” he says.

The parallels really are obvious. After all, if you own a valuable piece of real estate, it’s “valuable” because other people are interested in that specific piece of property. Likewise, if you own a desirable domain name, others will find value in it because it serves their purposes. So it doesn’t matter if you own physical real estate or virtual real estate – you’ll likely use similar strategies to turn them into money in your pocket.

Enjoy nature at its best. Matheran is a one of its kind hill station near Mumbai,India (About 100 km. away). Matheran literally means jungle on top.
