An Array of Major and Minor Cosmetic Procedures

At Premier Plastic Surgery of Kansas City, our board-certified surgical staff offers a complete range of both major cosmetic surgical procedures and minor cosmetic treatments in order to help in making you look your best. Understanding that the decision to undergo any major cosmetic surgery is a deeply personal and often difficult one, you can expect your initial consultation to be conducted with discretion and respect. The surgeons will listen to you, develop a clear picture of the results you are seeking and come up with a plan tailored to help you meet your goals.

This also means that the surgeons at Premier Plastic Surgery of Kansas City will never try to convince you to undergo major surgery if one of our many minor, in-office treatments can help you to achieve the results you want. While Premier Plastic Surgery of Kansas City does offer breast augmentation and reduction, facelift. tummy tuck surgery and labiaplasty (surgery of the female genitalia) as well as many types of reconstructive procedures, you’ll also find a number of less serious treatments available to you many of which can be performed right in the office.

Among the most common and most popular of these treatments are laser and chemical peels and dermabrasion.

Laser peel is also known as laser resurfacing. A fine, precision CO2 or fractional laser is used in dissolve the molecular bonds of scar tissue, making in effective in the removal of wrinkles, injury or acne scars, stretch marks, and spider veins. Such a laser treatment can also be used to remove excess fat deposits from around the chin and jaw during liposuction, helping to tighten and smooth the skin over the new contours.

Chemical peels involve the use of alpha hydroxy acid, a very mild form of acid that occurs naturally in sugar cane. Used in conjunction with lactic acid (produced by the body itself during physical exertion accounting for the burn felt during weight training), chemical peels can eliminate minor wrinkles, treat acne, smooth rough, dry skin and aid in the healing of sun damage.

Dermabrasion has historically been a painful procedure, requiring a general anesthetic and leaving the face looking red and raw; healing took several months. Precision CO2 or Erbium:YAG lasers have made dermabrasion a much more precise procedure and easier to target specific areas. Compared to traditional dermabrasion, laser treatment involves minimal discomfort and healing is much faster.
