How to Detox with a Brown Rice Diet
A brown rice detox is one of the easiest forms of body cleansing for many people because it furnishes essential nutrients, detoxes the body in a gentle way (thereby provoking fewer detox side effects) and doesn’t call for food deprivation as a juice fast can.
Under the brown rice diet detox program, you only eat brown rice for two to seven days. You don’t have to worry about being hungry or getting the jitters. It’s acceptable to flavor flavor your brown rice with Bragg’s Liquid Amino Acids, similar to soy sauce but healthier as it merely contains natural sodium. A small amount of miso paste with garlic and ginger powder will also give your brown rice diet a little diversity. Other seasoning herbs are also acceptable, however, don’t go overboard. For a little spiciness, add a pinch of chilli pepper pepper. You can also use a bit of brown rice syrup, maple syrup or agave nectar for a slightly sweet option. Only do this once a day, if at all.
In order to sustain good blood sugar levels, eat 5 or 6 small servings of brown rice daily. For convenience, you can make one or two day’s worth of rice at a time. Learn how to cook brown rice.
Be sure to have 3 to 4 quarts of water throughout the day. This can include unsweetened herbal teas as well. Peppermint is a light detoxifying tea, red clover will help with cleansing and a laxative tea at bedtime will help keep your colon moving.
