welcome to example 6 of “are you performing all you can to be safe at work?” What elements would incite you to review your current businesses health and safety policy? How long has it been since you finally looked at your systems of safety direction? You should make this a regular task . You don’t want to be leaving your policy without survey for a upper limit of around 1 year. Different applied science plays a key roll today as constant evolution of machines and schemes are substituting men from common tasks. What about if your management structure changes? this will need to be put out in written material as it happens so as not to be out of date. A risk assessment or method statement for any specific job you may execute may spotlight a shortage in the policy that would or should in turn make you debate surveying and updating.Enforcement bills are not even worth thinking about if you do get one you should review without question but buy following the above it should never get to that. Simply to repeat I would alike to indicate that there is no established time limit to be updating your health and safety policy just guidelines only please remember the old saying greater sound than sorry. I would advise thinking of you safety certification as a working progress that demands constant elevating and tweaking. Make sure you log all of your alterations and reviews ready for anyone who wants to go over the policy. this will determine you get respect as you are making health and safety seriously in your orgaisation.
