Pashminas: Year-round Fashion Accessory
Pashminas are very useful for many kinds of occasions since they are easy to fold up and put away in your shoulderbag if you get too hot. The wool of the pashmina keeps out the cool weather very effectively, so rather than dragging around a large jacket on a cool summer or spring evening, a shawl will suffice as a handy outer garment.
Pashminas are now very stylish as a fashion accessory for bridesmaids. The last couple of summers in the UK have been quite chilly, so maybe this has encouraged this new trend. Gold pashminas as well as cream an white are popular choices for marriage ceremonies, and look wonderful if all the bridesmaids have the same colour pashmina shawl.
If you order a larger size pashmina shawl, it can also turn into a useful blanket for long journeys. And of course, a pashmina can transform into a scarf for wintertime.
There tends to be two varieties of pashmina – the the 70% pashmina / 30% silk pashmina, and the 100% pure pashmina shawl variety. The non-pure pashmina shawl you can purchase at lower prices than the 100% pashmina wool opposite number, but it will be less warm. It’s up to you as to how you want to wear your pashmina shawl. Is it strictly for fashion purposes, or also apparel to keep out the cold too? I strongly advocate pure pashminas to keep out the cold.
