Because we spend so much time watching online poker if we like the game it is important to realize that the players on the screen are not the average player. At the very least our egos can suffer a blow if we fail to realize that they spend all of their days perfecting their skills. When we compare their poker prowess to ours, it is easy to feel inadequate. However, we don’t spend all day every day at the table.

At its most detrimental, watching professional poker players can lead average people to give up the felt. When we are shown such amazing examples of playmanship, it is easy to become completely discouraged. If we forget that the people on the screen are professional, we begin to worry that we will run into them at our local casino. Our home spun skills could never stand up to these poker sharks.

Watching the poker online pros needs to be done with a serious dose of reality. We will rarely meet players of this caliber at our local casino, so there is no need to fret your day away after watching televised poker.
